The EU/UNDP ELS in Karakalpakstan works in close cooperation with partners on regional and local level. The project has created regional and local working groups consisting of representatives of various governmental and public institutions from three target districts of Karauzak, Kegeily and Shumanay. These groups serve as basis for establishment of close links with government institutions when developing regional and local development strategies. Community mobilization component provides interaction with the civil society organizations and NGOs at local level. Joint work with existing microfinance institutions in Karakalpakstan ensures success of income generation activities.
