Today, May 16, two-day
workshop on social partnership started its work in Tashkent.
Participants came to the seminar from Fergana, Namangan, Syrdarya,
Djizak, Kashkadarya regions and Karakalpakstan. During these two days
representatives of local governments and Women’s Committee will explore
the concept, forms, methods of social partnership used in different
countries. One of the case studies will be the World Bank pilot project
“Local Governance and Civic Engagement in Rural Russia”.
The workshop will also enable an effort to compare methods used in the
world with those in Uzbekistan to evaluate experience accumulated in
the country. The Program “Social Partnerships as a Way to Improve Living Standards” is funded by the World Bank Institute, World Bank Department of Sustainable Development (ECSSD) and UNDP-EU Enhancement of Living Standards in Karakalpakstan, Namangan and Ferghana Regions Project.
