Every day, as each minute passes we move nearer to our main national holiday - to Independence Day. During the last 19 years, since  Independence, there have been enormous changes in all spheres of our daily lives.

On the eve of celebration of Independence Day, with the effort of the population of “Shovon” mahalla and financial support from the EU-UNDP programme “Enhancement of Living Standards” a project on installing a new water supply line in Turakurgan district of Namangan region was finished. Within the framework of this project, more than two thousand metres of water pipes were laid and water storage columns were installed on the mahalla’s territory.
Inhabitants of the mahalla were actively engaged and through the traditional method of “hashar” dug trenches and provided other support to the implementation of the project.

Today in Turakurgan district, within the framework of the «Enhancement of Living Standards» programme, 12 projects on development of a social infrastructure in 12 rural mahallas were finished.  These new projects through the 17 kilometres of new water lines that were installed will supply over 22 thousand end-users with clean water.
Likewise, within the framework of the ELS programme, in Turakurgan district, by Independence Day, a further three projects are planned to be finished. As a result of these projects approximately 10 000 inhabitants of  three mahallas will be supplied with clean drinking water.
