Opening of the renovated rural medical point has been a major occasion for "Vodiy" community residents (Pap district of Namangan region), as well as local doctors, who celebrated the Medical workers day. Capitally repaired with the support of the joint European Union and UNDP "Enhancement of Living Standards in Ferghana Valley” project by active participation of community members, the medical care center opened from November 13, 2010 has capacity to provide services for more than five thousands local people.

 

- The renovation of the medical center, established in 2005, touched deeply every resident in their heart and each of them had made a substantive contribution to the repair works. Now our medical point has a laboratory, gynecological and dental, physiotherapy and vaccination rooms, as well as necessary equipment – shares Muhtaram Turaeva, who is a chief doctor.

 

Residents of the "Kenagaz" village are still eagerly waiting the opening of their local medical center, the reconstruction of which started in September and is still continuing.

 

- The issue of medical point repair was very important for us, since the nearest district center is of more than 15 kilometers distance, and a first aid is always in need - says the "Kenagaz" local community chairman, Boykuzi Ergashev. - There are two neighbor villages "Kaznok" and "Kushtepa", which are in lack of such centers, and this would be very helpful for their residents too. Therefore, with the support of ELS Project, we were primarily interested in restoring our medical point, taking care of six thousands residents.
