March 11, 2011. Besharik district of Fergana region. Opening ceremony of the “Organization of metal work and bench work, production and installing of metal products” initiative took place in “Kuyizarkaynar” community within the “Income Generation” component of the “Enhancement of Living Standards in Fergana valley” Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
 
Leading by Ravshan Rasulov, the Initiative group developed a business idea further selected for its implementation by ELS project staff. One of the important sides of the enterprise is creation of six new workplaces and ten places for youth, who can possess knowledge of metalworking trade in their own community.
 
Estimated at more than 11 million sums new six metalworking machines were provided as part of technical assistance by the Project. The initiative can produce necessary for household use and farming activities tools and instruments, therefore, relieving hard work of more than 2700 men and women residing in “Kuyizarkaynar” community.
 
Golibjon Turdiyev, director of the district agriculture college, asserted that this project would not only provide additional services, but also serve as a place of practical experiences for college students and youth of the community.
